*Currently we have enough adults for the required chaperones. If more students sign up, I will issue a coupon to discount the next adult on the list.

Join the high schoolers for our annual winter retreat! We head to West Virginia and enjoy Winterplace Ski Resort! We learn a lot about ourselves on the slopes. We enjoy times of worship, sharing, fun, and shenanigans! Eighth graders are cordially invited to join us since the hurricane messed up all the schedules and a middle school trip just isn't possible.

January 18-21 (MLK Weekend)

You can come and hang out at the lodge. You can come and ski or snowboard. All abilities welcome!

Winterplace is a great ski resort in WV! It is easy to navigate and has a good variety of runs.

We are staying in the Mountain House which is across the parking lot from the Ski Lodge. We will be able to ski up to 14 hours Saturday, Sunday, and part of the day Monday.

We will have a women's bunk room and a men's bunk room. We are limited to 18 people in each bunk room if we use cots or air mattresses. The spots are first come, first serve. Friends are welcome, but they do have to attend youth group or Sunday School multiple times in order to get to know people.

You will need money for a meal traveling up and back. Other meals and snacks are included. You can always buy extra snacks and hot chocolate in the Lodge.

The cost of the trip is a moving target. The number of people going impacts the cost because the room cost will be shared between more people. To begin with, we will work with a range of 10 to 20 people going. If more go on the trip, we will pay less per person.

If the following explanation does not make sense, I will be happy to show you the spreadsheet or explain it in person.

If you are interested in going, please register and pay the deposit.

Youth Cost
Depending on how many people go, the total cost will range between $611 (for 10 youth going) to $464 (for 23 youth going). That price includes lodging, transportation, all meals while on the mountain, lift ticket, equipment rental, and a group lesson. I am initially going to place the cost based on 15 youth and 5 adults going. The price could increase with fewer participants or decrease with more participants.

Required Adults
Each van will require two adults. Plus, we will bring an extra adult so we can switch drivers. Those adults will pay a reduced cost because we cannot go on the trip without them.

Required adults will pay between $125 and $150 to offset the shared costs. These adults will be expected to dive the vans and be on the slopes to help coach students, count noses, and be available for help. (As of November 19th, we have the number of required adults we need. If more students sign up, we will add more spots.

If you are an adult who wants to come along and not drive and not coach, you will pay a similar price to the youth. I have to figure out that exact number. However, if the number of youth increase, you may have the option to become a required adult.
